This sample work originated from the reproduction of Nanni Balestrini's generative poem "Tape Mark I", which he created in 1961 using an algorithm designed by IBM engineer Alberto Nobis. In the process of recreating the logic of the original algorithm with a suitable JavaScript animation, however, the practice extended into other areas of my research. The work consists of 6 poems and some reflections on the theories I applied to the work.
In 2020, I created a version of this poem written in Perl and published it on my WordPress blog. However, soon afterwards, my WordPress blog was deactivated and I had to create a new web page - this current one - on a cloud server that doesn't support Perl. Luckily, I found a web developer who offered himself to translate the Perl code into PHP code, thus providing me a version compatible with my web page and an example of transcoding. The poem is now available on this page and the code files are stored in this GitHub repository.
