This is an overview of to the seven sample works that I created for my PhD research study on the aesthetics of enhanced e-books. The study was designed as a practice-based research which involves combining creative work with academic research and gaining new knowledge through creative work. The process itself constitutes the method of data collection and is adapted to the academic method. As the scholars of the Practice-Based Research (PBR) method state:
Practice-based research is a principled approach to research by means of practice in which the research and the practice operate as interdependent and complementary processes leading to new and original forms of knowledge. By 'practice', we mean taking purposeful actions within a specific context, typically in a creative or professional way: the making, modyfying or designing of objects, events or processes.
